Flood comments redacted

For the record I would like to officially redact my flood rant statements made the other day.  For the silly people that choose to live along side a body of water yet go against logic in getting flood insurance, I have no sympathy.  But for those poor people in Cedar Rapids, Iowa that live miles away…Wow.  I can’t even imagine.

My wife asked me last night when on earth are we going to be done with Tornado Watches and Thunderstorm Warnings.  We were excited even to hear the tornado sirens go off last weekend when a tornado touched down less than five miles from our home in Mundelein, IL near the intersection that I had driven past no less than 20 minutes earlier.  I have no clue when this crazy weather will end, but I personally enjoy storms.  I am at peace sitting in my living room with all the lights off, watching lightning strikes and listening to the impending thunder.  My wife would rather wrangle up the cats and sit in our laundry room in the basement until the storm is gone.

Busy weekend on the horizon.  Balloon twisting for three different events this weekend as well as a late night trip to Great America tonight where they have their “Coasters after dark”.  From 9-12 season pass holders (I am a geek, I know) get the park to themselves for late night coaster riding.  Should be fun.

I evaluated how things are going with the balloon twisting hobby that I have, and I was shocked to see that this year I am on pace to eclipse the 230 event threshold.  That is almost 5 events per week that I am averaging this year.  It’s becoming less of a hobby and more of second full time job.   As things continue to grow, I need to make some decisions about where this is going.

Have a great weekend!

hmmm balloon twisting….if you make a full time career out of this…then I’d say Stupid Tom could learn how to twist a balloon and maybe answer his part-time job hunt.
